Paul wants to encourage the Church to be strong in the Lord and take up His armor (the armor of Messiah/New Kingdom/New Humanity) to unify together as one in Christ wrestling against the 'rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.' Having taken up His armor WE, as one body in Christ, PRAY at all times in the SPIRIT---. Our temptation to be 'like God', not trust Him and the evil spiritual forces around all come together to make up all the struggle you see in the bible and the world around us.---Maybe if you believed and stopped forgetting that there are spiritual forces trying to pull us into chaos and disunity through temptation, sin and death, you would be more likely to pray for your spouse, your kids, your family, your church, your leaders, your city and your nation. Not just praying for the ideals you have in your mind about how thing 'ought to be' but praying against the disunity and chaos and praying for HIS KINGDOM COME AND HIS WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
