This is the first part of a series on the book of Jonah. Though it is a small book, Jonah packs a punch! It confronts a fleeing prophet who will be confronted by a big storm. Pagan sailors sailors that are praying while the prophet sleeps. Lastly a big fish that will lead Jonah to a place where he can experience repentance and restoration. But let us not be too quick to look down on Jonah and his disobedient rebellion. We will discover his journey has a lot of similarities to our own. It is to our own advantage that we study and learn from this prophet whom our compassionate heavenly Father in mercy rescued, not from a storm, but from himself.
