A casual conversation with Weiyuan, the Co-founder and Head of Reactor School. _________________________ Weiyuan is the Co-Founder and Head of Reactor School. He is in charge of growing Reactor School’s success, currently overseeing and integrating operations across Reactor School’s four functions - Marketing, Sales & Business Development, Instruction Design and Training Operations. As one of the two Master Trainers of Reactor, Weiyuan has over the course of 8 years trained over 1,000 students and professionals on starting-up and honing an entrepreneurial mindset. Weiyuan has always wanted to solve problems. As a youth, he was curious and fearless. It was enjoyable and it made him happy to create value for others, sometimes earning pocket money while doing it. And then school happened. For the next 6 years, he felt lost; there was poor line-of-sight between what was taught and what he was interested in pursuing. Weiyuan eventually took his education into his own hands and started his first business at 19. His first business was a tuition agency aimed at providing premium tuition services by ex-students, for students. He and his co-founders built an in-house technology that automatically ranked and matched tutors and tutees by their subjects, location convenience. His contribution – building sales flow and marketing – led to the company to 3000% profit within a year. While his tuition agency eventually died a natural death due to conflict in priorities, he was able to gain valuable experience and fully set his mind on setting up his own business. Weiyuan has won and participated in several business planning and entrepreneurship competitions. In recent years, he has returned to the scene as a facilitator, mentor, and judge.
