MID-WEST FARM REPORT - MADISON

Miscellaneous

Rachel Bourassa will be mentoring women new to conservation, or those looking to do the sort of practices she has put into place on her farm - in particular, managed grazing on her fifth-generation Bouressa Family Farm near New London. Her parents were early adopters of managed grazing. Rachel works for Golden Sands RC&D as a grazing specialist, writing grazing plans for new farmers and conducting outreach events.  She is a board member for GrassWorks Inc, a state grazing advocacy organization, and a co-coordinator for the Central Wisconsin Graziers' Network.  Rachel is also a member of her counties’ FSA County Committee. She’s president of the Wood-Portage-Waupaca Wisconsin Farmers Union Chapter.  She is a member of the state’s Meat Processing Task Force, and was most recently appointed to represent WFU on the National Climate Change Policy Advisory Panel.
