I want to make sure my students understand the beauty and possibility of diversity.    So I’m having uncomfortable conversations in brave spaces.   My talk with Jinah Parker… was amazing!   It was filled with good energy, openness, and commitment. And I am going to recap it for you.   On episode #91 of the Dance Boss Podcast, I dive into the main points from this workshop that stuck with me: Even if you own/teach at/dance at an all-White studio, it is still your responsibility to make it more racially diverse. Dance history is gold! Know it and incorporate it into your teaching. Microaggressions exist. We have to do our best to cut them out.   I truly believe that having these open and honest conversations will drive the change we need.   This is how I’m doing my part.      For show notes visit - https://www.erindpride.com/podcast   Check out the For the Love of Dance Challenge, a virtual charity event by Apolla Performance in partnership with the nonprofit Dance Arts Centre to donate goods and services to raise money to help save dance studios that were affected by COVID19.
