Broadcasted on Friday, January 3, 4-6pm ET on CFRC 101.9fm’s ‘finding a voice’ – In the first hour, from the second and third rounds of the December 3rd ‘and the journey continues’ open mic reading in that monthly series you’ll hear readings by Vanessa Mayville, Lee-Ann Taras, Leyla Chisamore, Nuard Tadevosyan, Tia Lunn, Brent Raycroft, Ragini Singh, Bob MacKenzie, Lyle Merriam, Quentin Kerr, Alison Wong, Cory Tokay, Eric Folsom, Jordan Layne, Judith Popiel, and Arlene Bautista. In the second hour, from again the December ‘and the journey continues’ open mic reading, and in its conclusion you’ll hear readings by again Brent Raycroft, Bob MacKenzie, Lyle Merriam, Alison Wong, Eric Folsom, Jordan Layne, Judith Popiel, and me. Following that and from the 2018 “The Al Purdy Songbook”, you’ll hear a few selected interpretations or inspirations of Purdy’s work by Bruce Cockburn, Gord Downie, Sarah Harmer, Leonard Cohen, and singer/songwriting duo Snowblink.
