Join us as we speak to the Founder of Remnant Daughters, Ms. Valerie Close. Remnant Daughters is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in August of 2002. This organization was created as a result of the various needs of women and children in our communities. We have seen an influx throughout the years of violence and abuse in the home, teen pregnancy, malnutrition, gang violence, single- parenting, Aids/HIV, illiteracy..., poverty, homelessness, unemployment and other socio-economic ills. Remnant Daughters' mission and goal is to empower and impact the lives of women and children, to break the cycles of violence and poverty, causing them to live a better quality of life. Remnant Daughters accomplishes this task by educating the public through various workshop seminars, Safe Houses & Transitional homes, GED programs, Job training, Personal and Spiritual growth training, Health & Nutrition, Financial Education, Arts and Drama, Teen Pregnancy, Teen Runaways, Domestic Violence Awareness and many other avenues to assist women and children to achieve a greater level of wholeness in themselves and become a healthy addition to their individual homes and communities.If you are in this situation or knows someone that is please encourage them to listen.
