When in a relationship, there are certain roles that we take on. Whether they are of a practical nature, like mowing the lawn or cooking dinner, or the things that we do every day, but maybe never take notice of, like being cheerleader or a negotiator. These relationship roles may be fluid, passing easily from one person to the next depending on the situation, or they might be deeply entrenched and rigid. They may adhere to expected gender roles, or go willfully against them.
