In this episode, we focus on her first children's chapter book, Lucky Broken Girl. The story of a young Cuban-Jewish immigrant who finds herself stuck in a full body cast after a horrible car wreck, Lucky Broken Girl earned Ruth the 2018 Pura Belpré Author Award.
