Saturday Morning Coffee - the Reese Boyd Radio Hour

Miscellaneous

NOTE:  Due to a technical problem at the studio, only a portion of today's broadcast was captured for the podcast.  Sorry about that!  We'll be back next week with a full serving of Saturday Morning Coffee!SATURDAY'S SHOW:  Your Host Reese Boyd and Producer Glenn Dye continue their discussion of the topic on everyone's mind today - the Coronavirus pandemic.  Reese discusses an interesting article published by the AIER (American Institute for Economic Research) questioning the wisdom of the economy-wide shut down that the country is currently undergoing, which notes some interesting quotes from NY Governor Andrew Cuomo.  Justin Cramer drops in to the show to discuss the current dramatic volatility in the stock markets brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic since February 19.  Cramer discusses the drivers for market uncertainty and volatility, and other issues impacting equity markets today as a result of the pandemic.  We also discuss the wisdom (or lack of wisdom) of the CARE Act (appropriating more than $2 Trillion) and the current monetary stimulation of $4 Trillion.  Reese discusses the rising popularity of "Zoom" and other video conferencing solutions, and a recent warning issued by the FBI regarding "Zoom meeting bombing" and other potential security issues with the popular videoconferencing app.  Reese and Glenn discuss some items written and published prior to the COVID-19 pandemic that makes us wonder why we don't appear to have been better prepared for the novel coronavirus pandemic.  Reese discusses how dishonest China appears to have been with the US and the rest of the world at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.  We also discuss the need to ultimately figure out, if we can, where this virus originated.  As always, we wrap up the show with our "parting wisdom" segment -- Reese shares a story from WWII, a time when folks were not hoarding toilette paper, but instead we giving away their ration coupons and pooling those coupons to make sure that others, especially service members, had enough to eat.  He shares his perspective on how security comes not from hoarding TP or a garage full of canned goods, but from a personal relationship with your Heavenly Father!
