Sermon Series: The Story of JosephPrimary text: Genesis 37:1-11Focus: Last week we introduced the theme for the summer: When life gives you lemons. The trite thought that is tied to this phrase is: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade... decide to make it better. But most of the time, when we encounter sour moments, just adding water does not make the drink less sour. We have to add a third ingredient: "sugar". What is the sugar that you need in your life? God and His ways. With this thought in mind, we are embarking on a journey through the oftentimes sour story of Joseph. We will be adding the sugar of God's ways into his story to see what difference it makes. This week's story, found in Genesis 37, shows us some of the sinful attitudes we can bring into our own relationships. Join us as we explore what impact God's sugar can add to our lives.
