Barbara Kendall really is a national icon.  She competed in 5 Olympic Games winning every colour medal, starting with gold in Barcelona 1992. She also won 11 world championship medals and 25 national championships during her athletic career in International Windsurfing. She’s remained heavily involved in the Olympic movement with roles on many different International commissions and executive boards and is currently a vice president of the International Surfing federation and a member on the International Olympic Committee's woman in sport commission She became a New Zealand Olympic Committee order holder in 2016, and in 2018 was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of merit for her services to sport leadership. Barbara Kendall was Simon Barnett and James Daniels' guest for this week's Six and a Song. LISTEN ABOVE
