Whilst flying by the seat of our pants, and after several failed prior attempts, using alternate means, I managed to sit down with Steve Ryan of InFisherman magazine fame for a 90 minute one-take dialogue that spans the globe and runs the gamut from his more domestic forays such as Colorado river skillet sized sunfish to chasing some of the most challenging and tenacious freshwater fish on the planet such as Papua New Guinea black bass, Indonesian arowana, and Yellowcheek carp, just to name a few. From there, we found ourselves freestyling on everything from a possible remedy for the Asian carp invasion to the viability of stocking muskellunge in his backyard in the waters of southern Lake Michigan. This will serve as a perfect spiritual metric for how many of our future episodes will feel: off the cuff but up to snuff. Hope you enjoy this scintillating repartee with one of the world's most accomplished and modest anglers.
