Stop Child Abuse Now

Miscellaneous

Tonight's special guest is Alyssa Karsagi from Houston, Texas, a divorced Jewish mom and a victim of malfeasance in Family Court. She was herself abused as a child and recently had her parental rights taken away due to deeply flawed custody evaluation report being used as the main evidence in her judgement. Little other evidence or testimony by Alyssa and her attorneys was allowed in her jury trial for custody of her children and some witnesses and evidence were excluded entirely. "I grew up in Crosby, Texas," she says, "the oldest of 3 children. My mother (who is my abuser) described me as a 'difficult infant and child'. I remember Mother telling the child psychologist that I had colic and reflux and that I cried frequently until I was 2 years old. Mother told people that there was 'something wrong with me'. I was finally diagnosed with high functioning autism as a teenager and I received accommodations in school. The help, support, and understanding that I received at school was never provided in Mother’s house." Her childhood past was to repeat. We are in our third year of being in this same situation today due to the domestic violence by proxy (the court being the proxy). I feel that I have failed to protect my sons who were also both diagnosed with autism, Alyssa explains."During the few moments that I have been allowed contact with my sons, they have had bruising on their bottoms and genitals, burns on the face and body, bruises on their bodies and heads, and 5 black eyes .. in less than 6 months."
