After making a career change as a corporate suit wearing professional in the Chicago area, China Wong felt herself wanting to feel more fulfilled. After doing some research she found herself pursuing a career in the beauty business and moving to Atlanta to train at the Van Michael Salon. Her career then moved her back to Chicago as a color director before she felt compelled to open her own salon in her hometown of Des Moines. Starting over 14 years ago Salon Spa W has enjoyed double digit growth every year and grown to over Five Million Dollars in revenue in one powerhouse location. In this conversation, we caught up with China for just a few minutes before she was going up on stage to speak with a standing room group of Salon/Spa owners.
