On the 27th of March 1997 a bizarre tragedy occurred. 39 bodies were found inside a San Diego mansion. All laid out the same way and all seemingly departed the world in the exact same manner. this was no mass murder but instead a group known as Heaven's Gate who had all decided to check out early to catch a lift on a passing spaceship. The cult which was founded in the 1970's amassed a huge amount of followers and ran for many years but when they only had a few members left, they decided that they would leave this world all together.
