Miscellaneous

On this episode of Living Beyond 120, Mark and Dr. Gladden cover the topic of “The Hallmarks of Aging”.  They talk about how the aging process in humans has a noted effect on their DNA; specifically, how cells can lose their viability and eventually commit cellular suicide. They discuss growth hormone’s influence a person’s DNA, how proteins hold the key to cellular chemical processes and how it relates to optimal cellular functions in relation to aging.  They address stem cells and how they also have influence on the body’s regenerative processes. Next, Mark and Dr. Gladden shift to the discussion to how people have a preference for a more laid back, luxurious lifestyle and how that impacts the way people age.  For example, because of those luxuries, we do not exert effort to walk up a flight of stairs or take a bike ride to the store. They close by driving the importance of making time for yourself by increasing sleep and decreasing stressors.  They touch on the importance of streamlining your life -  and economizing your time – by getting rid of the nonsense in your life.
