We cannot misrepresent the Gospel or Scripture. Many may deny the fundamental doctrines of the Gospel. John is defending these doctrines, especially the doctrine of the incarnation of Christ. John tells us who Jesus is and why it is important. It seems that darkness can all to easily influence the church, esp. one that is not well versed in doctrine. Doctrine and esp. the doctrine of the incarnation is of vital importance. Jesus is our standard and the complete scripture should be taught.-We need to practice not loving the world, for we fellowship with the Father and the Son.
