A legitimate prescription to control legitimate pain sustained from a wreck. That was when Shauna found herself completely submerged into the prescription opioid epidemic that had saturated post- Katrina Mississippi. Shauna, your ordinary soccer mom, was soon in unfamiliar territory as DEA agents surrounded her car and had her face down in a parking lot in Hattiesburg, MS in August of 2008. Her opioid addiction had spiraled out of control and had landed her into forging prescriptions throughout South Mississippi. But through those wounds came the gift of a second chance that she spends helping others lost in addiction.
