Today we continue with the new series, Thieves of Joy, and take a look at Gossip & Slander. Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through 1 Corinthians 3 and makes 3 observations: (1) Gossip and slander originate with idleness; (2) Gossip and slander both feel really good to participate in, but lead only to problems; and (3) Gossip and slander must be addressed for the joy of the church, the joy of the one being hurt, and the joy of the one causing the hurt. How do we apply it? (1) If you have been slandered or gossiped about, joy is found in the vine; (2) Establish relationships of truth and grace for the joy of everyone; and (3) If you have gossiped and slandered others, repent and run to the grace available to you.
