Social Worker Matters

Miscellaneous

Welcome to another episode of SWM.  Since the last podcast, there has been positivity and sadness -  recently the Practice Supervision Development Programme https://psdp.rip.org.uk/ completed wave three and a huge celebratory online conference took place which was a great event with such rich feedback from participants and powerful evidence of a real contribution to the sector. The sadness includes more loss of colleagues, friends and relatives to COVID-19. I wish to convey sincere sympathies to the families, friends and colleagues of those we have lost during this difficult and challenging time. In today's episode, we meet my colleague Tim Kent - Director of Adult and Forensic Services at the Tavistock & Portman Nhs Trust.  He shares aspects of his early career, his love of music, his transition to qualifying as a Social Worker, and whilst he went onto complete training as a Psychotherapist - where he learned much about himself in relation to others - he remains committed to his Social Work roots and identity.  Tim shares his thoughts and insights about our current climate and context and toward the end of our discussion he shares some words of wisdom for those entering the profession and peers in senior positions. Thanks for visiting, do leave a review and subscribe, this helps to get the word out.
