In this episode of Time Lost, Ollie Paterson speaks with prolific writer, philosopher and poet Will Alexander to discuss his metaphysical essay piece entitled “Modern mental terrain: Procuring script from nauseous diamonds”. The conversation, in typical Alexanderian fashion, quickly morphs into esoteric shapes, almost existing outside of the linearity of time and space. Jumping into surreal and percussive directions, discussion spans from the idea of cosmic pre-creation, to language as an alchemical technology, to the spiritual nullification of contemporary selfhood. Alexander also speaks of writing as a meditative praxis through which to communicate to forces larger than the individual, a way to open up and configure one’s own philosophy. As well as the current psychological climate being one not of despair, but a direct pathway to entering a new kingdom of the mind.
