Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise are the only two actors who reprised their roles fromthe original film. Kilmer, who plays Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, is battling throatcancer in real life. Kilmer’s character who is now an admiral is also shown tohave throat cancer in the film.
