Miscellaneous

In this episode we have discussed various things regarding the origin and present status of Indian nationalism. The term nationalism evolved into different forms according to the region, time and the cultural values of people.  Initially it referred to as belonging to a particular group for a common value and evolved into territorial, religious nationalism and all. In India the nationalism become territorial during pre-independence period for a common cause of getting independence. The constitution of India is the framework which holds the sovereignty, integrity among the people of India despite of their diversities. In recent times the our nationalism is shifting towards the religion based nationalism portraying the religious values and imposing Hindi. Being a follower of Hinduism and speaking Hindi is projected as patriotism. This is creating hatred among the people against the other religions and customs which may lead to hyper nationalistic feeling and disrupts the secular status of our country just for the sake of wellbeing and safeguarding the vested interest of few people.  Kindly send your comments and suggestions.
