One of the benefits of doing this podcast is being introduced to new bands by my guests. Early on I had Leah Shapiro & Peter Hayes from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club on the show. After the show they both said I had to have the guys from a band called Restavrant on. Well, it took a little while but we finally made it happen. Troy Murrah from Restavrant is my guest. He got started playing music a little later than most. He ruined his chances at guitar lessons by skipping piano lessons as a kid, but he got a chance later on after a relationship ended. He taught himself slide guitar by watching as many tapes and DVDs of his favorite blues guitarists as he could find. He started playing out and chose the name Restavrant as kind of a joke and now he’s stuck with it. His sense of humor rears its head all over the place, like using typos on albums on purpose. In addition to his music, Troy also creates quilt-based wooden works of art. He started the project as a memorial for his mother and it’s grown so much that he was asked to write a book about it. Check out restavrant.com, they’re pretty easy to find on social media, too. Their high energy dirty blues rock is definitely worth checking out. You can also check out social media @PerformanceAnx. You can help support the show at ko-fi.com/performanceanxiety. Merch is at performanceanx.threadless.com. And check out the other great shows on the Pantheon Podcast Network. There’s absolutely something for everyone. Now I hope I’ve worked up your appetite for Troy Murrah of Restavrant on Performance Anxiety ,part of the Pantheon Podcast Network.
