Amazin' Avenue: for New York Mets fans

Miscellaneous

Welcome to UnforMETable, an Amazin’ Avenue Audio show that looks back on less heralded, more obscure Mets players from the past. Walt Terrell came to the Mets organization in a trade remembered more for the other piece in the deal—Ron Darling—as the two AA starters joined a struggling organization trading its lone fading star, Lee Mazzilli. Terrell was the first of the team’s young pitching prospects to make the majors. And while he struggled at times on the hill, he had one of the most memorable days at the plate that a Mets pitcher has ever had. Then, just as he established himself as a solid major league starter, the team traded him for a potential power bat in Howard Johnson. As always, you can listen or subscribe to this and all of our wonderful Amazin’ Avenue Audio podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, or listen wherever you get your podcasts. If you’ve got an idea for a player to be featured on UnforMETable, let us know in the comments.
