The Parents Engaging Parents Education Series was established for parents and guardians that want to advocate for the educational rights of children in New Jersey which is coordinated by Altorice Frazier. This podcast will be utilized to spread awareness via the world wide web. Our vision is to engage and inspire parents and guardians that they have the power to improve the educational experience of their child.The sole purpose of the show is to engage and promote awareness while ultimately conveying that parents do have the power to become full partners in their child’s educational life.Show Guests: Shavar Jeffries & Modiegi Notoane-Eugene Guest Info: Shavar Jeffries serves as President of Democrats for Education Reform. Jeffries began this role in September 2015, and brings a personal commitment to ensuring that a child’s zip code does not define their destiny. From his efforts fighting for fair funding practices to get schools the resources they deserved to his service leading the New Jersey Attorney General’s Juvenile Justice and Civil Rights Departments, he has been a vocal advocate for social justice. Modiegi Notoane-Eugene spent seven years working with KIPP NYC at KIPP Academy Elementary. During her tenure there, Modiegi held a wide variety of roles such as founding Kindergarten teacher for two years, Special Education Coordinator, Dean of Students, and as an Assistant Principal. , Modiegi started her educational career as a New York City Teaching Fellow and worked at P.S. 140 in the Bronx where she taught general education Kindergarten, 1st grade team teaching and Kindergarten 12:1:1. She  is currently the Vice Principal at KIPP NJ's Thrive Academy.
