On India Upfront, with Rahul Shivshankar, we discuss the apathy that has struck Chennai which is currently inundated by floodwaters and the AIADMK government’s preparations for it have failed miserably. Multiple areas are underwater and entire communities have been stranded without electricity for close to two days. Visuals are coming in of cars being submerged in water and people wading through knee-deep water. The state government has blamed the DMK for not doing anything for the state. We are also joined by Dr Kanimozhi Somu, a member of parliament and Dr Ranganathan to weigh into the matter.
