The start of it all. This is the beginning to my addiction story, Episode 1 of Afflicted: Dawn. I am 24 years old and I was dead by the time I was 20 years old due to drugs and alcohol. In this episode, we begin with an essay I wrote in College, and jump right in to how it all started. The first episode of a six (6) part series, I am telling my story in the hopes that it will help even one person. It it does, I will have been successful in what I want to accomplish by telling this story. Afflicted is the true story of how I almost killed myself by the time I was 20 years old and how I have managed to succeed in life since. Afflicted is a a story of pain, personal destruction, addiction, healing, and personal triumph. I feel that I have a solid story to tell and I wanted to put it out there in order to hopefully help and inspire others. I hope you enjoy this story, and thank you for listening.
