A crazy hoops season with a crazy ending

The WVU men's basketball team went from preparing for the big crowds of the Big 12 tournament to preparing to play in front of nearly empty stands to preparing to head home, the rest of the basketball season canceled due to concerns over the coronavirus. Tom and Derek talk about that, plus so many of the other cancellations and postponements that have come from the spread of the virus.

The coronavirus edition

Spring football is about to begin at West Virginia University, and coach Neal Brown talked to the media for the first time this year. Also, the college basketball regular season is wrapping up, and WVU needs to rally to make a run in the postseason. Tom and Derek discuss the questions surrounding Brown's second spring season and the basketball team's recent stumbles.

Tom and Derek dig into the biggest question surrounding WVU's men's basketball team: What in the world is going on? They look at what's to blame for the recent losing skid, who might be to blame and what the Mountaineers might be able to do to turn things around before the postseason.

When does the skid stop?

After a bad loss at Baylor and what was mostly a bad first half against Oklahoma State, the WVU men's basketball team pulled things together for a win over the Cowboys and an end to a three-game losing streak. So how does WVU build off that? Tom and Derek discuss that and some WVU baseball.

Righting the ship

Bob Huggins warned his WVU basketball team about a lack of energy in its win over Iowa State. He wasn't wrong. Now West Virginia has lost two in a row for the first time this season and have a trip to No. 1 Baylor this Saturday. How do the Mountaineers snap out of the funk? Tom and Derek dive into that, plus talk a little WVU baseball.

OK, now what?

Bob Huggins was not a happy coach after WVU's win over Iowa State, and he had reason after a lackadaisical effort against the Cyclones. Lackadaisical is not a word that should be anywhere near the Mountaineers with the next three games on the schedule -- Oklahoma, Kansas and at Baylor. Tom and Derek dig into all that, plus muse a bit about Mountaineer baseball and Tom talks about the craziest travel story ever.

A big week ahead

The Mountaineers looked like they were longing for the confines of the WVU Coliseum after their loss at Texas Tech. They get back there Saturday for a date with Kansas State ... who also handed WVU a pretty bad road loss. Tom and Derek talk about both those games this week, and what West Virginia's road struggles might mean for the rest of the season.

Feelin' Homesick

The West Virginia University men's basketball team followed its worst performance of the season, a loss at Kansas State, with one of its best, a record-breaking thumping of Texas. What does that mean for the Mountaineers moving forward, namely against Missouri in the Big 12/SEC Challenge? Tom and Derek discuss that and much more.

A Texas-sized rebound

This week, Tom and Derek dive into WVU's hot start in Big 12 play. Since a loss at Kansas to open the conference portion of its schedule, West Virginia has shown itself to be among the nation's elite defensive teams. Shooting, however, hasn't always been kind to the Mountaineers -- at least not until this week's lopsided win against TCU. Just how far can this WVU team go if it plays up to its potential?
