Last year, Rapper and Presenter T.I. shared his list of the top 50 rappers of all time. The list included 47 men and only 3 women; Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill and Lil Kim. This is not an issue exclusive to that list - Nicki and Kim are often singled out as the only women who've been able to play with the boys, when it comes to hip-hop.This Podcast, new for 2020, looks to tackle this gap by introducing and celebrating female artists, not just from hip-hop but from all Urban Genres. Including Dancehall, Afrobeat and UK Rap. Throughout the series, hip-hop DJ Lex on the Decks will talk with her guests about their favourite female artists, as well as addressing some of the reasons why this disparity exists.It's an uplifting listen from London, for the world.
