In this episode of the podcast I get the opportunity to sit down with Brio Yiapan at her beautiful photography studio in Austin, Texas. Brio was born in Kenya and her family moved to Austin when she was still a baby. She got her start in photography living in Jamaica after high school. After completing a degree in photography she started the studio back in 2002. She loves meeting new people and collaborating with them to make their vision happen. I recently featured Brio Photography in a blog post on Top 10 Photographers in Austin. They say it takes 10,000 hours of sustained practice to become a master at your craft. She has been working for almost 20 years and is definitely a master photographer. In this episode we have an engaging conversation about what inspired her to start her own photography business, best marketing techniques, finding quality clients, go-to camera gear, life with family/kids, national parks in Texas, drilling wells for clean drinking water in Kenya, travel stories from China, and more! It was so much fun talking with Brio Yiapan, she's a very friendly and talented woman. Stay tuned for the next episode of Digital Nomad Ventures!
