Wikifreakz heads up north in this episode straight to the arctic! We kick it off with INUIT CLOTHING and then taking a deeper dive into the INUIT PEOPLE. INUIT SIGN LANGUAGE, a sign language signed only by those in the Inuit community, is nearly an extinct language. It could go the way of MARTHA’S VINEYARD SIGN LANGUAGE, which unfortunately is entirely extinct but in its heyday nearly ever resident of Martha’s Vineyard signed it. Why would unique dialects of sign language exist within a community for generations and then one day disappear? Emigration for the latter and ENDOGAMY for the former. And an interesting side effect of ENDOGAMY is the FOUNDER EFFECT, when a group of homogenous genetics somehow produce an anomaly. Smaller gene pools mean INBREEDING which leads to FACIAL ASYMMETRY. Apparently all of our faces lean left unless you’re one of the 2% of hotties. We end this genetically diverse episode with the BIG FIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS in an effort to better ourselves and better our social interactions. From the tundras of the north to the rich inner world of our self expression we take a trip on this episode that you won’t want to miss!!
