In honor of National Women’s History Month, host Rekaya Gibson shares 11 facts about Renee Powell who became the second African American woman to compete on the LPGA Tour. She participated in over 250 professional golf events and won the 1973 Kelly Springfield Open in Brisbane, Australia. Powell was born on May 4, 1946, in Canton, Ohio. She is the daughter of William J. Powell, the first African American to build, own, and operate a golf course in the United States.
