He felt that there was an overwhelming need for better schools - a moral imperative - and that's where we start this knowledge-rich dialogue. He has also worked with many professional sports organisations around the world; he teaches teachers how to teach better, and coaches how to coach better. We discuss the similarities of teachers and coaches, achievement gaps, feedback loops - and how to give excellent understandable feedback on a pitch. Doug opens up on perfect practice, skill acquisition and the 'quiet eye'...a common trait of the very highest performers in sport.
