The Fantasy Sports Podcast, hosted by JayDubb. This is part 1 of a 2 part series detailing the lessons learned to be part of a perfect team. The first part is this show with our former coach, a father of a close friend, a mentor, and an educator of many, Richard Weaver. Life flies by, we find a career path, get married, have kids and before long we’re knee-deep into responsibility. We don’t often take enough time to reflect on the path traveled, appreciate those people who helped shape us into who we are today. Our parents all have a special, obvious place in our journey. But it’s the teachers who often are overlooked. I was fortunate to grow up in an incredible place and time, Palo Alto in the early 1990s. I played on a basketball team that was an undefeated state champion and the man who shaped the chemistry long before our culRichard Weaver was the definition of consistency, wisdom, and quiet confidence. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to sit down with Mr. Weaver, to hear his reflections, 25 years later on what that experience meant to him, some of the backstories and ultimately to thank him for being himself.
