Each month we release a new full-length album right on our podcast and then we break down the songs and the hows and whys of it. Today we look at the album Depths [Improv No. 7]. This was recorded from November 26th to December 6th, 2018 to a cassette four track. I made up the songs while I played. All the overdubs were done as fast as possible before moving on. I filled up a single cassette tape. Everything on that tape is on the album in the order it was recorded. I call it an "improv album." This one explores various themes like waking up, recovering from trauma, sensemaking, transcending divisive politics, and trying to heal from your own failures and miseries.
