I’ve already spoken about Rhinoçéros in my first episode of the podcast called the five best music bars in Berlin, but today we are going to discover it more in depth with Bénédict – Béné for friends – owner and founder of this gem in Prenzlauer Berg. Bénédict opened the bar in November 2017 together with Martina his wife and they created a spot dedicated to the highest quality of sound, wines and drinks.Bénédict’s passion for music is ever present; Rhinoçéros has a dedicated music corner consisting of a vintage sound system, a record player, and a vinyl collection. The real inspiration for Rhinoçéros is Japanese Jazz kissa – small jazz cafés that function as listening rooms. At Rhinoçéros you can find regular vinyl listening sessions such as - Astra Travelling focusing on spiritual Jazz, No Room For Squares, dedicated to genre defying records, – DJ events , exhibition and sometimes intimate live concerts.Last week I met Bénédict right at Rhinoçéros and we talked about all these things and much more.EPISODE #14 RHINOÇÉROS JAZZ BAR with BÉNÉDICT BERNA 03:50 Bénédict and his passion for music starting from a very early age 07:50 The idea of a Bar with a concept driven by Japanese Jazz Kissa culture 16:23 Rhinoçéros as a point of reference for djs, musicians and insiders 20:00 Astra Travelling: a series of listening sessions highlighting special Spiritual Jazz records and the history, heritage and ongoing relevance of the genre25:38 The Future of Berlin Music Scene 27:40 Upcoming events and the future of RhinoçérosLINKS OF #14 RHINOÇÉROS JAZZ BAR with BÉNÉDICT BERNAOFFICIAL WEBSITE RHINOÇÉROS:http://www.rhinoceros-berlin.com/OFFICIAL FACEBOOK FAN PAGE RHINOÇÉROS:https://www.facebook.com/rhinocerosbarberlin/OFFICIAL FACEBOOK FAN PAGE ASTRA TRAVELING:https://www.facebook.com/AstralTravelingBerlin/#saveourspaces SIGN THE PETITION TO SAVE GRIESSMUEHLE:https://www.change.org/p/savegriessmuehleDo you have a question? If you want to talk about some of the things we will talking about, let’s talk on Instagram! ? https://www.instagram.com/maikolpiardi/You can send me a DM, leave a comment on my posts or Instagram stories.Subscribe to one of your favourite platforms:iTunesSpreakerSoundCloudStitcherSpotifyAlso, please subscribe to the show on iTunes to get automatic updates. Thanks so much for listening to this episode of the podcast! If you’d like to help me out, then I’d love it if you could:-Share the episode on social media with people you think the might like the podcast.-Leave an honest review and rating of the podcast on iTunes.iTunes reviews in particular really help the rankings of the podcast and help me to reach other aspiring traveller and music lover around there!Ratings and reviews are extremely helpful and greatly appreciated, and I read every single one See you in the next episode of the Music Travel Guide Podcast!❤︎
