MTG Arena News Podcast - Episode #4Thanks for enjoying today's podcast! Here is the rundown: 2020 Qualifier Season Update WIzards published an article today hyping upcoming qualifer events: the Mythic Invitational Qualifier on Arena this Saturday, the Players Tour Season 2 qualifier season for paper Magic, and the next few MagicFest events spanning January through February. No changes or news was announced but Wizards did a great job of bringing awareness to these tournaments. To anyone who hasn't been, MagicFests are a very fun and accessible way to participate in competitive Magic: the Gathering. If you've only played FNM and maybe a few local qualifiers, MagicFests are the next step up. I would strongly recommend attending one even for only a day if you're in the position to go. MagicFest Info SiteQualifier Season Update Post from Wizards Mythic Invitational Qualifier Deck Chat We chatted about the expected metagame for the Mythic Invitational Qualifier on Saturday. We expect Rakdos Knights, Fires of Invention, Simic Flash, and Azorius Control to makeup most of the field and we believe any of these decks are fine choices. We both value comfort navigating matchups so we often lean towards playing decks we've played more than potentially better decks where we have little experience. That being said, I would play Simic Flash and Jason would play Azorius Control or Sultai Flash. I've been successful with Seth Manfield's Simic deck from the Mythic Championship. I went from Platinum IV to Mythic pretty quickly without any changes while following his sideboard guide.
