A day that would change Joe Delagrave’s life forever! Joe Delagrave grew up as a three sport athlete which lead to playing Division II football at Winona State University. His identity was rooted in his athletic career. Nothing else mattered besides his pursuit of being the best athlete he could be. However, July 10, 2004, would be a day that all those dreams vanished as a casual boating adventure turned into a life altering accident. In the matter of a split second, he went from a college football player to a paralyzed 19 year old kid. He had to figure out what life would be like in a wheelchair. Soon he realized, through God’s grace, his faith in God became his foundation. Fast-forward, he and his wife April have three beautiful children. Joe found an adaptive sport that helped him become independent, confident and fuel his competitive fire. He’s a keynote speaker all over the country, sharing his story of overcoming adversity. Joe is also a Bronze Medal holder and is the current Captain of the USA Paralympic Rugby Team and will be playing in Tokyo. Go USA! His never-ending drive and determination has helped him to not only be a world-class athlete playing at the highest level, but also to be an unbelievable husband to April and devoted father to his kids! Make sure you check out my interview with Joe as he shares some remarkable life stories in his journey as a dad.
