I'm back again, with another solo episode! Last weekend, I ran my very first ultramarathon: the Serpent Trail 100 km race. It was a fantastic event, and it was a truly joyful day: a great stretch outside of my comfort zone. Whether or not you're a runner, you'll find this episode to be useful: it will give you an idea of how to plan a much bigger adventure, in terms of both physical and mental preparation. There are lots of little details in the planning, and I got most of them right. I hope this episode inspires you to try new adventures!   Listen To This Episode        What You'll Learn Why you might want to run an ultramarathon My journey to an ultramarathon Things I did right in my training and preparation Nutrition on the trail: hits and misses Things to improve for next time Things to figure out for the future What to keep in mind if you're running with someone else   Things I Discussed Salmon Serpent Trail Jane Talbot Gu gels High5 gels  Hammer electrolyte pills OS Maps app Komoot app Tailwind Injinji midweight socks Injinji lightweight socks Nathan bib belt Kogalla RA lamp Serpent Trail 2021 video (see if you can spot me at the briefing) Another Serpent Trail 2021 video    Related Episodes 411 Holly Worton ~ Who Do You Need to Be for The Adventures You Want to Have?
