Matt is the Co-founder & CEO of Remitly, the largest independent digital money transmitter in the US, whose vision is to transform the lives of immigrants and their families by providing the most trusted financial services on the planet. Matt’s passions an d leadership have been influenced by the environment he was raised in. Generations of his family, including his father, have been entrepreneurs. His mother, an art therapist, role modelled introspection and emotional intelligence.After graduating from Dartmouth with a BA in psychology, and receiving his MBA from Harvard Business School, Matt eventually took an opportunity with Barclays Bank in Kenya. There, the inspiration for Remitly was born. Matt saw first-hand the difficulty of sending money overseas and recognised the global impact his business could have. Since launching Remitly in 2011, he has drawn from the influences of his family and experiences to lead a high-performing team.
