Business Over Beer

Business

This week on the second biggest podcast in the Pacific Northwest behind only The Sasquatch Hunters, we have Part 2 of our interview with Lindsey Charlet, Founder and CEO of HUB Collective, a visual design and content strategy studio in Portland, OR. In this episode of Business Over Beer, we talk about the process of branding, both the journey of her company's brand as well as the branding journey she takes her clients on.  At the heart of branding is honesty, honesty with yourself and others, honesty around vision and values, and being honest enough to have the hard conversations.  Prost!   In this episode: Be open and transparent with your goals and aspirations; "Every time we write it down it manifests" For a long time Lindsey's mission was not centered around the work, but rather it was to create a place her employees liked to go, to create happy people on the planet.  Find your niche, but choose the niche you want to be in, don't be niched where others want you to be. It might take longer, but it will be worth it in order to do what you love.   Design for good, that makes the world the better place, and going after work that feeds that for her designers Don't shy away from having hard conversations, you might offend some people by being direct, but more often than not people will open up. Don't ask yourself what the word needs, instead ask yourself what makes you come alive. It is our job to let our light shine, and when we do, our light gives other people permission to be themselves.   Angie's Mystery Beer: Old Schoolhouse Brewing - Winthrop, WA Melipona, Vanilla Coffee Stout, 8.5% ABV, 40 IBU "Finished with whole Mexican Vanilla Pods, Ceylon Cinnamon and Blue Star Coffee Roasters cold brew, this stout is rich and creamy with notes of complex notes of chocolate, licorice, vanilla and a finish that hints of spicy cinnamon."   Episode Links: HUB Collective Spoke Episode #43 - Good Beer Branding Brene Brown Lindsey Charlet on Business Over Beer Part 1
