This episode comes from the post, "Why did people spy on future ghosts on St. Mark's Eve?"After stumbling across an article on ViraLuck called "15 Weird Forgotten Holidays We Should Totally Bring Back,” I totally added April 24, St. Mark’s Eve, to the Weird Holidays & Observances page. St. Mark's Eve doesn't sound very weird or unusual, but what some folks do on it is --or used to do. Not sure it's a thing anymore. But between the 17th and 19th centuries in some parts of the world it was a thing to sit in a church porch between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. and watch for "future ghosts."What are future ghosts? The ghosts of people who will die in the coming 12 months. But there is some other lore associated with St. Mark's Day too. That's what we explore in this episode. Join us! It's easy.
