This week I'm joined by four-time Canadian national karate champion Melissa Bratic. Melissa comes from a family with a strong history in the sport of karate. She is the second youngest of four sisters in total. Her eldest sisters both climbed the ranks and became champions in their own right both on the national stage and international stage as well. As she continues to make a name for herself away from her sisters, This episode comes with a theme in mind, and that theme is Patience. Throughout this episode, you will hear melissa talk about how it was her mindset and the willingness to be patient in her journey that helps her compete at her best. With a sport that is so focused on precision and making the right moves and the right time, you might be able to understand why this suits her to a T. In this episode we talk about the origins of her journey, having her dad as a coach, looking up to her sisters, the ups and downs of karate and the lessons and sacrifices she made along the way to get to where she is today.
