Simon Cole is a psychological therapist with over 30 years experience and has worked in medical (NHS UK) and private settings in the UK, France and online.  He has worked with a very wide range of client difficulties, ages and backgrounds.  Almost 15 years ago he moved to France with his wife where they set up a retreat centre in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains.  Here they offer individual and group retreats and therapy, which incorporate mindfulness, meditation, creative therapies and walking. He has written several books on meditation and mindfulness, the human experience, and relationship, and sees the insights of Martin Buber on human relating and existence as one of the foundation stones of his philosophy. Having been a musician since childhood he brings musical elements - the form, the immediacy, the flow - into all his work, and makes it a theme which anyone can use.  He calls it “musicking” - with a “k”, but it needs no previous musical experience.  His latest book “just BE here - the guide to Musicking Mindfulness” explains: “The ‘k’ is there because it may be, but it doesn’t have to be about making music in the way we conventionally think of it in any of our various cultures."
