This week Former CFL offensive lineman for the BC Lions and Montreal Alouettes and now financial Consultant/Planner, Kirby Fabian joins me on the show. Originally from Calgary Alberta Canada, Kirby was A dual-sport athlete playing basketball and football throughout high school. He excelled in football and coming out of high school was one of the top offensive linemen in the country. He signed with the University of Calgary where he had a successful career and continued his dominance on the field. In 2012 Kirby was selected with the #7 pick to the bc lions in the CFL draft. early on Kirby solidified himself in the offence and spent 8 successful years in the CFL making him one of the tops paid linemen in the league. After the 2018 season, Kirby decided to hang up the spikes and step into a field where he now protects people differently. Since retirement from the sport, Kirby is now establishing himself as one of the top financial consultants in Vancouver. in this episode we talk about Kirby's upbringing, how a visit back to Haiti gave him a new perspective on life, highlights of his football career, finding the right financial planner, red flags when it comes to trusting people with your finances, the best way to minimize debt and so much more.
