Welcome to episode 35 of SWM, today we meet Mrs Delia Cuffy-Weekes, an educator, an agriculturalist and a social worker.  Delia is based in the Caribbean, The Commonwealth of Dominica where she has lived all her life with periods away for vacations and study leave.  She shares with us the varied tapestry of her rich and diverse career, which has been and continues to be rooted in the centrality of relationships, humility, honesty, clarity of purpose and a strong desire to help and support those who need her and are vulnerable.  We learn something of the challenges in Caribbean society and the necessity to operate at many human levels as a practitioner to engage and gain the trust of whomever she is trying to help, from a farmer to women suffering domestic violence, to parents suffering the loss of a baby. Delia is committed,  passionate, enthusiastic and tenacious which are all traits required for our work, she is also a lot of fun, so let's meet this phenomenal woman.  Delia refers to her association with the following groups, here are the links FYI: Dominica National Council of Women www.ngocaribbean.org Dominica Association of Persons with disabilities www.dapd.weebly.com Dominica Cancer Society www.dominicacancersociety.org/ Dominican Council on Ageing www.dcoainc.org Lifeline Ministries Dominica www.lifelinedominica.org My Email: adosylv@gmail.com Join  our SWM Private Facebook Group @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/412169436067530 My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB6IJzP9UzJn2B5oXclbnOw See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
