I think of my dog, she can really get after a squirrel. I watch her pour on the power in pursuit of that squirrel with great desire. It’s incredible to watch. That is what God wants of us. Do we pursue rightness with a vigor? Do we judge rightly? After all, they are interchangeable. Are we a people that are after Gods own heart? Proverb 15:9 tells us, The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but he loves him who pursues righteousness. Consider the zeal of Phinehas in Num 25:10-18. Verse 12 says that God extended a covenant of peace to him because he pursued righteous justice.
