With the passage of the $95 million Affordable Housing Bond in November of 2019, Durham voters made a commitment to making affordable housing for all city’s residents a priority. That money is being combined with other local and federal funding for a total of $160 million to support the City’s Affordable Housing Investment Program. In this new CityLife episode, host Beverly Thompson talks with Director of the City’s Community Development Department Reginald Johnson and Chief Executive Officer of the Durham Housing Authority Anthony Scott about what the goals of the program are, how they’re being achieved and how Durham’s public housing fits into the scope of the program’s funding.
